"It's possible... It took alot out of me that I had to tap her..." Looking up at Irikara, she kissed Namu's cheek then crawled over into her lap. Cuddled up, she tapped into the yami with a blush, so they could talk amongst themselves. ~"Ne... Irikara-sama..... Is there a way Hathor and I can become one person instead of two?"~

Being a proverbial lightning rod for mindlinking, it didn't bother Irikara in the least when the naomi linked with her. The assassin played idly with Rin's bangs as she considered the other girl's question. =Probably somewhere in our scroll library. Though, unless you want to go the way Sekhmet and I did with the whole death and reincarnation thing, there'll be magic involved.= Irikara narrowed her eyes, but it wasn't with irritation, much less at Rin. =If so, I'll be of no use to you then. You'll need your boys to help you with that.= She tilted her head to the side, a habit that the criminal yamis all seemed to have acquired. =When do you want to dredge up the scrolls?=

Eyes closed tightly, a small smile upon her face as Irikara played with her bangs, Rin thought over the choices. She didn't know which one to choose, let alone what Hathor would think was best. ~"I don't know,"~ she sighed over the link, shoulders slumping some. ~"I'm not even sure how we'd want to go about this, but it is something Hathor and I have been discussing. We're tired of being two people trying to share one body and since we are, obviously, supposed to be the same person; much unlike the whole yami-hikari deal, we thought becoming fully one would be the best course of action."~

Irikara shrugged, continuing to play with Rin's hair. =Well, I'd say that we should see what we can find first, then go over our options.= She chewed her tongue slightly in thought. =But be careful, because you'll only want her memories gradually.= Irikara smirked, having eventually locked Sekhmet's memories away where she'd really have to look to find them. =Otherwise you'll have the world's worst migraine.=

~"As if her impending fear of my cousin's Yami doesn't provide enough of one."~ Smiling, despite the remark, she hugged Irikara and kissed her cheek. ~"But thanks, I knew you'd be able to help some how or another. Maybe after I get better we can go over the scrolls and see what we can come up with."~

She smiled and returned the kiss on the cheek. =No problem, Rin. And, yes, you need to rest and recover from this cold.= She looked up, sky blue eyes flitting to meet twin pairs of lilac. She smirk/smiled. =You're in good hands, so- Ra allowing- your recovery should be swift.= She realized what she'd said and winced. =Eh, sorry, Rin. Old habits die hard.= Ruffling the naomi's hair, she scooted her off of her lap and stood up. To the others, she said, "Just make sure she gets enough rest and food and whatever else."
Irikara grinned down at Rin. "In other words, don't let her do anything fun." She glanced up at her albino lover. "Let's go Ryou. If they need us, they can call us again." Ryou nodded and handed Malik what he'd been holding. The Ishtars and Ryou knew that the yami and naomi had been mindspeaking, but the topic was their business. Besides, mindspeaking was common enough among their group.
"You three need anything else?" Ryou inquired softly, pausing rather than follow Irikara.

She blushed again at the smirk, though it was mixed with a smile, her mind scoffing at the mention of Ra. Ra allowing indeed. If it meant he could get Hathor back, he'd be quick to kill Rin off, she was sure. But since doing so would more then likely cause the goddess to be lost as well, he'd let her live. For now anyway. At the mention of no fun, her jaw dropped and she went to complain but stopped knowing it would do her no good. When it came to Rin's health, Irikara's word was law. Snorting after the yami, she huffed, crossed her arms and pouted, slumped foreward some. Other then getting out of school, this was going to suck.

Ryou noticed Rin's pouting and smiled, sweatdropping a little. "I'm sure it's to make sure the cold doesn't spread to the boys, Rin." Rubbing the back of his neck, he continued, "That it? Okay, just call if you need us, minna-san." And Ryou disappeared after the assassin.
When the front door had closed, Malik stared after them for a moment and then left his position at the doorway to stand by the bed. Namu laid down, curling his body around Rin. "Aw, don't pout, love," Namu murmured, looking up at her.

Cold spread to her boys? Yea right.... Sighing, she flopped onto her side to avoid smishing Namu. "No fun... That means nothing, she won't let me out of bed either. Why shouldn't I pout?" She pouted more before sneezing, her eyes going a bit swirly from the action. Not cool.

Malik still held the things that Ryou had handed to him and put them down on the bed, turning back tohead for the kitchen again. Namu glanced up in surprise, eyes asking why Malik was leaving.
"We need Nyquil." Was the yami's only answer as he grabbed the keys to the motorcycle and a jacket on his way out. When he was gone, Namu sighed and sat up, offering a small smile to Rin.
"Well, you have a point. Irikara IS rather strict when it comes to your health." He laughed. "Well, we can always try to find something to do with you bedridden."

Her eyes were slightly wide as Malik left, feeling part of the reason he was so quick to leave was because he was still wary around them. Eyes falling to the bed, she shrugged and curled up around her pillow. "I suppose.. Though the bright point is I won't have to go to school for awhile."

Namu nodded. "And I think that's a very good thing, since the situation between us and the Motous is rather strained..." Namu wasn't sure if Rin knew- and it was probaly best if she didn't until Malik chose to tell her- that the theiving yami had taken over Yugi's body, something that was not likely to endear the Ishtars to the midget hikari, either. "It'll give everyone a chance to recover..."
Trying then to lighten the mood, Namu grinned and ruffled Rin's hair. "Well, we could always play Go Fish or something. I'd have to find the playing cards, though. I don't know where Malik put them after the last strip poker game."

Her face tinted up and with a groan, she plopped the pillow over her face. She rememered that game fondly, the Yamis had been the only ones to win leaving the Hikaris and Rin to lose significantly. Or rather Rin was the true loser (or bitch) and Namu and Ryou had tied for not bitch. Crossing her arms, she mumbled something along the lines of, "let's not mention that game again," and left the pillow to hide her embarassed blush.

He laughed and kissed her cheek, sliding his feet to the floor and standing. "As you wish, love." He gave her a slight bow and then ran off, laughing, to find the playing cards.

Malik took the long way to the drugstore, driving with only half his attention. The cops briefly entertained the notion of going after the cyclist, but he was actually going the speed limit for once and driving legally, so they were forced to let him pass unbothered.
Rin and Namu had assured him that they were not mad at him for what he'd done while trying to kill Yami. This assurance meant a lot to him, but he'd have to get around the gnawing guilt that still lived happily in his gut. Yugi... He'd never really liked the runt hikari, but what he'd done was, in hindsight, perhaps going a little too far. He actually wanted to apologize. It was for mostly selfish reasons, mostly to make himself feel better, but something told him he should apologize anyway.
'Later... I don't want to go anywhere near the pharaoh right now, even if he IS weakened.'

When he was gone, she sighed, teleporting briefly to the roof of their apartment. Malik still felt bad, still felt guilty and chances were there was another reason as well, but she couldn't be sure what. All she knew was he had no reason to feel as he did. If anything she or Yami were to blame. Though she knew Malik would never see it as such. "It's only a chain of events, nothing more... nothing less.."

Malik parked the motorcycle outside the drugstore and walked inside, the electric doors opening automatically for him and the blast of cold air hitting him full force. Involuntarily, he shivered. He greatly preferred temperatures upwards of ninty, ninty-five degrees. It had to be sixty-five in that store.
Aimlessly he walked towards the medicines aisles, wondering absently how much a bottle of Nyquil cost. Surely he had enough on him, but it was something to think about. Well, the good thing about this place was that he wasn't likely to find any of Yugi-tachi here. Gods above and below... If they were to find him, they'd probably start a fight with him, especially since he was alone.
Malik sighed and paused in an aisle, looking up and down to find the Nyquil.

Golden eyes watched Malik from across the alley way, what was it the "old man" was looking for anyway? Hell if he knew. He couldn't even remember why it was they got dropped here. Besides the golden eyed figure, an orange eyed figure stood holding a much smaller one on their hip.
"Are you sure we should be doing this? He'll have a heart attack.." the orange eyed figure whispered.
"Could I be so lucky?" asked the golden eyed on, turning their gaze to their companions.
The smaller one pouted, clinging closer to the one that held them. "Meanie..."

He finally found the blasted bottle, as bad luck would have it, on the very top shelf. Swearing under his breath, he wondered how to get it down. He was by no means short, but the store owners apparently thought that the shelves should be eight feet in height. He realized that he shouldn't have left the Rod at home. It'd be a rather undignified use for the Item, but it would give him the extra few inces he needed.
Malik picked up a box of allergy pills and tossed it from hand to hand, wondering if he'd be able to get the box to have enough force to knock the bottle down. He couldn't climb the shelves since they were typically so badly balanced. Throwing something would have to do. Taking a step back, he prepared to aim the pill box at the Nyquil.

"Hey pops, shouldn't you ask for help instead of throwing pill boxes? You could hurt some one!"
A rugged voice, though clearly teenaged, voice spoke as a teen with black hair and stark-white bangs walked out, golden eyes narrowed. Behind him stood a girl who looked exactly as he did, save her eyes were orange in color. And she had a child on her hip.
"Mimi, have Reily get the bottle."
With out word of complaint, the girl now classified as Mimi walked over to where Malik stood and placed the young boy on her shoulders. Oddly enough they seemed to be the right height and within seconds the bottle of Nyquil was in grasp.

Malik stared at the teenagers and the little boy as he plucked the Nyquil bottle from the child's hands. Then his eyes narrowed to match the teenage boy's, as that was who he glared at. "I have very good aim. I'd have been able to get it myself." The box was put back on the shelf, though not where he'd gotten it. The Nyquil got tossed from hand to hand like the box had been and he glanced at the girl, Mimi, for a moment. He gave her a brief nod, acknowledging her help.

    <lj:music>What else? Nemo!!! X3</lj:music>

It was possible, but the fact Hathor hadn't been talking to her since Anzu came by made her think other wise. Either way, she didn't feel good and she showed it. She looked rather pathetic. And... surprisingly she was fast asleep.

The doorbell rung soon after Rin had drifted off, making the boys jump. Malik was able to get out of bed sooner than Namu and made it to the door. Opening the frontdoor, he saw Irikara and Ryou standing there. Ryou looked slightly paler than even his usual color. Irikara must have been driving, then. Malik gestured them inside.
"What's wrong with Rin?" Was irikara's immediate question, to which Malik replied with a shake of the head.
"Don't know... We were hoping you could tell us..." Irikara exchanged a glance with Ryou. Malik was being unusually submissive. Either it was really bad or that wasn't the only thing that had happened recently.
"Well, lead the way."

With Malik gone, Rin had shifted out of Namu's hpold and onto her back, taking up the whole other half of the bed. Her flushed face was to the door, a hand on her stomach, the other "hitting" Namu in the face. Her shortened hair, which Irikara had yet to see, was fanned out as best as it could around her.

Namu looked up as the three of them returned, Irikara and then Ryou beind Malik. "Hey," he greeted the albino hikari and assassin softly. "Glad you could make it."
"For my naomi, anything." Irikara replied, sitting on the edge of the bed. "What's been going on with Rin?" Namu described what he'd noticed.
"I don't know if that's all of it. She didn't complain too overly much about it. Malik and I had to persuade her to even go to bed."
"Malik, yeah..." Her eyes darted back to her old friend, who was leaning against the doorframe. "Look, obviously Ryou, Bakura, and I have missed something, but we'll worry about that later. Right now, we need to wake up Rin. I hate to, but I need to know what else is wrong."
Namu nodded. "Rin? Love, wake up?"

She whined in the back fo her throat, a whimper to follow. Moving to her side, she tried to avoid waking up, the pain not evident when she slept, but a few more proddings from Namu sent her into the world of the living. Glancing up she found Irikara seated rather close to her, or perhaps she had moved toward the female yami, and squeaked rather hoarsely in surprise. "I-Irikara-sama!"

Irikara smirked very slightly at Rin's squeak. "Hello, Rin. So... What's wrong with you?" She quirked a brow at the naomi. She was trying to act nonchalant about it, but she was just as concerned as the boys.

She blushed and looked away, she always blushed when Irikara smirked like that. At her question, she sneezed and blushed even deeper. "I don't feel well..." Stopping to think, she sweatdropped knowing Irikara was sure to know that much at least. "Umm... I mean... My head hurts, alot, and my ears do too... I feel really cold and dizzy and I don't seem tp be able to move around much.." She muttered something about not being able to hear Hathor speaking, but left it extremely quiet and hard to hear.

Irikara digested all of this and looked Rin over, pausing for a moment at her hair. Her fingers played with the shortened strands a bit and then she continued on without comment on the hair. A few more minutes and she just smiled. "Not to worry, you three."

She felt a bit self conscious as Irikara played with her hair and decided the yami knew when she made no move to comment on it. No doubt she liked it longer.. At the words of "not to worry," Rin almost huffed. She hadn't been worried, she just felt like total shit was all.

The "not to worry", however, reassured the Ishtars. Ryou saw Malik's posture relax visibly and Namu murmured something under his breath in Arabic.
"Just see if you can get a hold of Hathor... That's the only thing that concerns me. Other than that..." Irikara shrugged. "It's a cold, maybe the flu. Standard care procedures should do it." She grinned at the naomi. "Seems as if the last few years are catching up with you."

She muttered incoherently at that and closed her eyes. It was similiar to the yami-hikari effect, save there were no soul rooms for the other half to live in. Well, atleast not for her. After several failed attempts to get Hathor to speak, she sighed followed by a cough. "She won't talk.."

Irikara thought to herself for a moment. She wasn't sure how Rin could entice Hathor to speak, since she herself was merged with Sekhmet and didn't have potential for that issue. "Any idea why? Did someone anger her?"

"I don't think so.." a sneeze interrupted her. Sniffling, she grabbed the blanket and pulled it around her. "But she's been like this since last night."

At a gesture from Irikara, the idle Ryou headed for the kitchen to get something for Rin's cold. "Last night, hm? What happened last night?" She didn't fail to notice how both Malik and Namu tensed up.

She shuddered again, though this time it was difficult to tell if it was because she was cold or not. Since it had been dredged up, Rin went on to tell of what had happened which also lead into today's events.

As Rin told what had happened, Namu looked up at Malik. The yami was looking very fixedly out a window, face blank and expressionless, but he could feel his guilt washing over him through the mindlink. Sending calming words back, Namu played with Rin's hair.
Irikara resisted the urge to look back at Malik as Rin spoke, knowing that it would make the yami feel worse than he already undoubtedly did. Instead, she made her face fall as neutral as Malik's as she listened.

When she finally finished, she felt even colder then when she had begun, more frightened then before. It was almost as if Hathor's fear of Yami had become her own. "And... that's what happened." Her eyes fell, unable to look any one in the eye. They didn't know it, but she placed the blame on herself for all that had happened, it had been nothing more then a chain of events that started with her.

Malik has his arms folded over his chest by this time, and the window had never seemed so interesting. Namu was curled up close to Rin. Ryou was concerned about what had been discussed, having caught most of it.
Irikara was angry. She, on the other hand, completely blamed Yami, even for Malik losing control. Ryou noticed and immediately tried to soothe her and she gradually calmed down somewhat. "I see... Well... Maybe Hathor's just drained."

She shrugged as she let her head fall against a pillow, though immediately she regretted the action. "I don't know.. It just started with a headache.." Curling up on the bed, she tried to surpress another shudder, her emerald visage glazed while the blush over her nose grew deeper. Turning said gaze to Namu, she tried to hide a pathetic whimper. "I don't feel good."

Namu paused for a moment and then settled down next to her. Kissing her forehead, he pulled her closer to him. "I can tell... Rin... Are you sure we shouldn't call one of the others in?" He lightly brushed his hand along the side of her face. "Maybe Ryou or Irikara?" Hell, he'd even call Bakura in, although he doubted the albino yami would be of much help.

She snuggled closer, if nothing else for the body heat, though surprisingly enough she was very warm to the touch. "I don't know," she whimpered, her ear suddenly beginning to throb in time with her headache. Oh joy unpon the most unholiest of joys..

The 'I don't know' was close enough. /Malik, go ahead and call them?/
//Hn.// He'd already done it. Sitting against a cabinet, he idly played with a larger peice of glass, the others already in a garbage bag. //Do... do you mind if I join you?// Malik could feel Namu's start of surprise that he actually asked permission and then a smile.
/Of course./

She whimpered, snuggling closer to Namu. She was sure some one was going to call over to Ryou's house, no doubt Irikara would come over to see what was wrong with "her naomi." Rin's mind could play out how it might go, and an unhappy Irikara was the star. This didn't bode well, she knew it.

"Kara?" Irikara looked up, startled from cleaning her knives. Ryou stood in the doorway, chocolate brown eyes watching her. "Kara, Malik just called. Something's wrong with Rin."
Sky blue eyes widened and she got to her feet. The cleaned blades were left on the table, but her dagger went to its traditional place at her side. "And?"
"He wants us both over there."
"Well, then, let's get going." She strode for the door, slipping on sandals as she went with Ryou right behind her.

Malik walked into the bedroom, taking the free place on the other side of Rin. He molded against her like he always had, nestling against her back. "They'll be here soon..."

Yup, she knew it... "I'm sorry," she muttered, eyes half closed. She was going to fall out before Irikara got here, perhaps that was a good thing? "I didn't want to worry you.."

Malik just nuzzled the back of her neck. Namu kissed her forehead. "If you're ill, love, then it's neccessary. We need to make sure it's not something incredibly serious."

"But I can't be sick!" she whined childishly, her right ear beginning to hurt now. "I haven't been sick since Hathor was placed into my body when I was six!"

Malik made an odd 'hn' noise and Namu cocked his head to the side a bit. "Maybe you're not sick, love. Maybe you are. Irikara and Ryou'll be able to tell when they get here; that's why we called them and not, say, Bakura." He smiled slightly. "Maybe Hathor's causing a bit of havoc?"

Rin giggled, rather amused by the look on Malik's face. Once again, the wish for a camera came to mind. Leaning foreward to do the same, she pulled back as her giggling turned to a cough, the mask to hide her current symptoms beginning to slip.

The boys both looked at her as she started to cough. Concern showed in Malik's eyes and Namu asked, "Rin? Are you all right?"

"Fine!" she replied quickly, mask slipping back into place. "Just fine. I think I just choked on a bit of air is all!" Kissing Malik's cheek quickly, she stood and turned to leave. "I'm.... just going to go and make something to eat."

Neither one really believed her, but... It WAS highly improbable that she was sick, so they let her go. Namu called after her, "All right, but take it easy, love." Malik dropped the hand that had started to reach out to grab Rin's shirt.

In the hallway, she leaned her back against the wall with a sigh, face suddenly flushed with heat. That had been close.. to close for comfort. Moving into the kitche, she found some stuff to fix food for them all and began to fix it up. It wouldn't take much out of her and was easy to make. However, as she mixed up a packet of cornbread mix (she had been craving sweet cornbread for a few days now) she began to wobble, unable to stand on her own. In seconds, she was on the floor, all but passed out, the bowl scattered about as it had shattered when she dropped it.

Malik's reflexes were much quicker than Namu's and he was on his feet with Namu on the bed before Namu had even fully realized that there had been a crash in the kitchen. Malik didn't say anything, but he paused to grab Namu and then dragged him along to the kitchen.
There lay Rin on the kitchen floor, the peices of broken dish around her. "Rin!" Namu surged past Malik and crouched by Rin's head. "Rin? Are you all right?" Malik was right behind the hikari, kneeling and frowning worriedly.
"Rin?"

"Fine," she muttered, sitting up admist the glass and cornbread mix. "I got a bit dizzy is all... I'll clean the mess up." Face flushed still, she moved to stand, her head pounding like something was jack hammering against her skull. So much for asprin.

"No." Malik's voice came out firm, surprising himself. "No, no. You're going to bed. Namu, take her to bed. I'll get this taken care of." He began to scoop all the glass together, leaving the mix for a broom.
Namu hesistated, then nodded, reaching to pick up Rin. "Let's go, love."

She looked up at Malik, rather startled. With the way he had been acting earlier, it was a shock to hear him sound so firm and in control again. She shrunk away though, as Namu neared to pick her up. "I'm fine.. I don't need to go to bed!"

Malik was concentrating on Rin now, otherwise he'd go back to being near-mute. It gave him a focus and he seized on it. "No, no.. Rin, go to bed, please." He was worrying again.
Namu paused, uncertainly looking between the naomi and the yami, not knowing whether he should obey Malik, or leave Rin alone.

She opened her mouth to argue, but nothing came out. Suddenly, as if with those words, she truely felt horrible. It was obvious too, for with in seconds she was leaning on her palms in order to keep herself sitting up right, and even then it didn't seem it would last long. This was what she had been trying to avoid, making either one of them worry. They did it enough on a daily basis, she hadn't wanted to give them any other reason.
"Daijobu deska, Malik-sama.. I don't need to go to bed." Yes, she knew she was pushing her limits, but if she could make herself believe it, then they'd have no reason to worry, right?

Malik's brow furrowed. "Rin..." Rin was not all right. Ther was something wrong and, no matter how she tried to hide it, it was becoming more and more obvious. "Rin, please, or I swear I'll call one of the others over to make sure you're okay."
Namu still hovered uncertainly.

Emerald widened, when that statement was made it usually meant Irikara was the one who was going to come over and deal with her. Arguing with Malik was bad enough, but to argue with Irikara-sama was far worse! And more then likely Irikara would be able to tell what was wrong with the naomi.
Lowering her head in defeat, she gave a small nod before her hands moved up to rest on her head. She had a killer headache and she was cold. The head ache was normal, though not to that extreme, but being cold in the apartment was not. The boys prefered a warm house.

Namu picked her up easily and carried her from the kitchen. "Rin... What's wrong?" he asked as he put her down on the bed and sat on it beside her. "You never get sick."
Malik was thinking the same things back in the kitchen as he cleaned up the glass and cornbread mix. Rin getting ill was not something they were used to.

She raised an eyebrow, watching him with a bemused expression on her face. "Play it by ear, eh? I suppose that means you have nothing either?" Kissing his cheek once more, she stood then beant down to pick up the water basin. It needed to dumped and rinsed, the laundry gathered and she still had grocery shopping to do. Pausing only a moment at that thought, she wondered how to explain that one to the people at the grocery store..

Namu shook his head. "Exactly..." He sighed as he watched Rin pick up the bowl. "Rin..." He shook his head again. "Nevermind...." And went back to playing with Malik's hair.

Bowl in hand, she paused at her name and turned around with a curious look. "What's wrong Namu?" she asked, ignoring his statement of nevermind. Something was on his mind and she wanted to know what.

He shook his head a third time, not sure how to voice what he was thinking. "It's just that... He hasn't lost control like that since, you know..." He was hinting towards when Malik had first awakened and taken over Namu's body. "It was like back then..." He'd thought that Malik would never revert to that again... That the yami had scared him.

"I know... I wasn't there, so I don't know what that was like... But the aura I felt when trying to get him to stop, that alone had scared me, and I dare say worse then Yami kidnapping me.. But the thing is, he didn't mean it, he never wanted to hurt you... Hurt us.. And I'm sure he won't ever do so again, as long as he can help it."

Namu nodded mutely. He knew that, but he was still scared. It was a stupid, paranoid fear. Besides. Malik was so without energies that he had no shields. He couldn't use any Shadow abilities if he tried. And, if there was one thing Namu knew, it was that Malik valued his shielding highly. Without a word, Namu moved so that he could lay down next to the yami and curled around Malik.

She wanted to join them, but Malik was out cold and if she laid down, she would be too. Muttering an "I love you" to Namu, she promptly exited and went about her chores. If she could keep busy then there would be no fear of passing out, right?

Namu returned the "I love you" and nestled closer to Malik. One hand had his finger twined around strands of Malik's hair, the other hand lightly rubbing his yami's arm. Hopefully, if Malik woke up and found Namu like this, he'd know that Namu forgave him.

A few hours later had the apartment spotless, laundry done and the floor vacuumed. Looking around, she knew there was nothing else to do. Anzu had stopped by, wishing to speak with Namu and Malik, but the naomi quickly shooed her off, in no position to handle the brown haired female. Looking at the bedroom door, she wondered if Malik was awake yet and feeling better, swallowing a few asprin as the thought passed her mind. She had the worse head ache ever and if felt extremely cold in the house. More so then usual, not that they kept it all that cold in the first place.

Namu was awakened, having dozed off, by a sudden rigidity in Malik's body. His eyes opened and he looked up at Malik, confused and groggy. What...? The dark was very much NOT looking at him and was absolutely stiff. "Malik...?" Namu shook his head to clear it and he remembered the day's events. "Malik, you're awake!" He sat up and, when Malik looked as if he was going to try and move away, straddled the yami's waist. "Stay." He looked to the door. "Rin! Malik's up!"

At her name, she looked up dizzily, having been seated upon the couch. She had decided not to bother them. Malik was awake... That was good. Standing, she managed to not fall over and made her way to the room. Reaching the door, she hid all symptoms from view and walked in with a smile, a shiver running down her back. Perhaps she had a fever? Nah... Couldn't be, she never got sick any more.
"Hey handsome, sleep well?"

Malik remained silent, but he slowly looked over. Namu kpet himself seated firmly on Malik's waist when the yami tried to move again. "No, no. Don't move, Malik." Namu was determined to make Malik hear him out, even if he wasn't sure what he was going to say. Malik remained silent. "Are you all right, Malik?"
The queastion apparently caught him off-gaurd, because his eyes snapped up to meet Namu's for a moment before sliding away again.

Rin was glad for the momentary glances away from her as she swayed where she stood before walking over to the bed. Not to close though, for fear of some one figuring out she wasn't as okay as she seemed. "Malik-koi.... Please. You have to believe we don't hate you.. We hate seeing you in this shape, afraid to look at us.. Afraid to find rejection in our eyes..."

Namu agreed strongly with what Rin said, staring at Malik until he finally looked back up at him. "We forgive you, all right? Now relax." Malik looked almost disbelieving, so Namu leaned forward and placed a very solid kiss on his mouth. When the hikari sat back up, the yami was staring at him with wide lilac eyes.

She stirred at Malik's touch but made no move to awaken. Not even at the sudden splash as he fell unconscious, the water basin's content soaking her good. At Namu's voice and touch, her eyelids fluttered and, with a yawn, opened to reveal a sleepy hazed emerald color. "Mm... Namu.."

She was exhausted too, he noticed immediately. Otherwise she'd have not been sleeping. He sat up slightly and smiled at her slightly. "Hai, it's me." Namu had heard the splash and craned his neck to look over the bed. He could just see Malik lying limply on the floor, hand in an overturned water basin. "Malik...?"

Still half asleep, she turned to cheek on Malik and, in her subconcious, laughed at the absurdity of it. However, on the surface, her eyes brows knitted together and she moved to stand. Nearly falling over herself from not being awake enough, she kneeled over and peeked him over, making sure he was okay.

Namu tentatively extended a tendril of thought to Malik and found the yami sound asleep and completely unaware of his surroundings. Namu instinctively went to keep Rin from falling. "Eh. Be careful, love..."

She gave a small smile when he went to help her, then she seemed even more relieved upon checking on Malik. The yami was asleep, nothing more. Probably from how much energy he had given away she was sure. "Namu.... can you help me get him to the bed? He's asleep."

Namu nodded. "Of course. " He slid from the bed onto the floor and gripped Malik around the chest. "I have this end if you can grab his feet. We should be able to drag him like this." He didn't want Rin lifting too much. She looked very tired herself, while he felt fine. He was starting to wonder exactly was she and Malik had done.

Grabbing his feet, she lifted them up some, knowing she could hold his lower half up much easier. It would be Namu who would be doing most of the heavy work.

Namu maneuvered the unconscious yami onto the bed with Rin's help, the process being a bit ungainly since he was bigger than both of them. At one point Namu tripped when he was trying to pull Malik up and stumbled backwards, nearly dropping the dark. "Sorry Rin... You okay down there?"

Nodding, she breathed a sigh of relief when they finally had the dark half laying on the bed and rather comfertably too. Sitting on the edge of the bed, she realized it had taken more out of her the usual, but atleast she wasn't passing out.

Namu walked back around the bed, sitting next to Rin on the bed and then pulling her into his lap. "Rin, love... Can you answer a question...?" He hesitated, then continued. "What exactly did you two do that drained you so badly?" He wanted to know, because seeing Malik helpless like that and knowing Rin was very tired made him feel... Well... there was no real word for it, but he wanted to know.

"I can't say I know what exactly happened with Malik.. I guess it was a combination of giving me energy so I wouldn't pass out while trying to take care of you and giving you some in return.." In his lap, she got comfertable quick, legs slightly kicking as she talked. "As for me... I don't recover energy as fast as you or anywhere near as fast as Malik. My energy recovery rate is super slow which is why I don't use it often. Using alot of energy not only yesterday, but what little I had today to help snap Malik-sama from his power surge... I'm afraid I don't have much left. I'll probably have to skip school tomorrow just to recover half of my energy."

"Mm.." Namu was thoughtful as he absorbed this information. So it'd been as he thought. Malik had given him energy to recover in an hour or so what might have taken days or much longer. Something was bothering him, something about Malik's reaction to him. "Rin.. Is Malik afraid of me?"

"It's possible... He hardly looks at me much since this morning.. He's angry with himself, unable to cope with the fact of how much he hurt us...with the fact he nearly killed you." Cheek against his shoulder, she let her gaze fall to the sleeping dark. "He thinks we hate him, despite my attempt to tell him that we aren't. He truely is sorry and because of it, can not bring himself to look at you. I'm surprise he could even look at me after I spoke with him."

That made sense... No wonder Malik had looked so upset when Namu had accidentally flinched. Namu whined in his throat, not liking the idea of Malik being afraid of him. He wasn't at all mad at the yami and was starting to really, really wish he hadn't flinched. "How do you suppose we make him realize that we forgive him? I tried to tell him that it was okay, but he just got up, said that we had to get back into reality, and left..."

At his whine, she giggled. It was almost as if nothing had happened. Kissing his cheek, she feel back into comfertablity and sighed. "Honestly, I don't have a single idea... I haven't had much of a chance to think it over since he took us into the Shadow Realm..."

Namu didn't say anything right away, electing to remain quiet instead. Then, "Then we'll play it by ear..." He played idly with a bit of Malik's hair.

Rin's eyes began to drift shut, listening to the beating of Namu's heart. It was one of the few things that she found would put her to sleep. It came in handy when she had insomnia boughts... Or there was a severe thunderstorm in the area. Yawning, she wanted to sit up but found she couldn't. Damn, she had gotten very, very comfortable.

Meanwhile, Yami groaned and moved his arm for his head. it felt as if a thusand pound brick had been slammed against it. Trying to sit up, he found he was no longer outside, but infact inside on Yuugi's bed. Expecting to find Yuugi sitting beside the matress faithfully, worriedly even, he found Anzu sitting on the edge, a cool cloth in her hand. Dark eyes blinked, a look of surprise fillging his features.
"Oh good, you're awake. I was beginning to get worried."
At Anzu's smile, his stomach tightened and felt like he was going to hurl on her lap. God, did she have to be so damned sugary sweet? "I'll be fine. What happened to-?"
She held up the knife left behind by Malik, showing him the words etched on it. "I trust this was left behind as a warning?" At Yami's nod, she sighed, sitting on the bedside table. "Yami, what happened out there?"

Malik saw Namu laying prone on the floor of his room, staring blankly at the ceiling. He ran forward immediately, kneeling next to his hikari. "Namu? Namu??" Somehow, seeing Namu just lying there again made it even worse and he bit his lip. "Dammit Namu, please wake up.." The hikari was still alive, but still unresponsive, too. Malik reached out and brushed Namu's hair away from his face. It was odd... The link was still closed, but Malik had been able to get into the room. Maybe he should try and wrench it open again... No. He had to get Namu awake before he did that. Gods above knew that his own end was wide open... In desperation, he tried feeding energy through to Namu in reverse of what he had done to the light.
It worked. Malik sat back in disbelief. Somehow, the energies were getting through... That must mean the link was still up, at least a little. But if Malik gave Namu more, he was going to lose his shields and be defenseless...
Fuck the damn shields. Malik could go without. He fed more and more into Namu, watching him and wondering why Namu wasn't rejecting them. He wasn't waking up, either, but he wasn't rejecting them. Malik pulled Namu onto his lap, cradling him like a child or doll as if physical contact would make it better. 'Namu, please wake up..'

Yawning, she knew she was drifting off to dream land. Even though Malik had shared his energy with her, it had been just enough to keep her awake this much. It was a natural thing for her body to put her to sleep in order to return energy. Eyes opening once to glance at Malik and then at the still unconscious Namu, she wondered how it was going. Another yawn sent her eyes closing again and, as she began to drift off, she muttered into the Hikari's ear in Egyptian. "Onegai.... Onegai Namu-kun.. wake up.."

Malik had not realized how much of his energy went into his shields, but Namu still remained unresponsive. he pushed more into the hikari, close to tears. "Dammit Namu, I'm giving you everything I have. Why won't you wake up....?" He was becoming frustrated and fearful that maybe Namu wouldn't wake up no matter how much energy he was fed.
//Namu, wake up, damn you! Please wake up or do something that lets me know you're okay!// Malik pleaded over the half-closed mindlink. His thought-words bounced against Namu's end of the link, echoing. But, incredibly, it was as if Namu's end eked open a little. //Namu? Hikari?// And a little more. That was enough. Malik forced open the mindlink to be as wide as it could go.
Cold. That was the very first thing Malik felt from Namu. Namu was cold throughout, freezing. It was backlash. Oh god... Malik had made it worse when he'd slammed the link closed because Namu couldn't reach the Rod and recuperate what Malik had stolen. The Rod had regenerative powers for both yami and hikari and Namu hadn't been able to use them.
Malik gestured and a shadowed version of the Rod appeared in his hand, a representative of the real thing, but it would have to do. He pressed it desperately into Namu's hands and closed the hikari's fingers around it. "Here it is Namu, come on and use it, dammit..."
The eye on the Rod flashed into brilliance, making Malik hiss and shield his eyes.

In the bedroom, the real Millennium Rod did the same thing and the air shimmered as if the Shadow Realm were to be pulled into the apartment.

Malik could feel the energies he'd been feeding Namu suddenly work and bolster the hikari's aura. Even that didn't seem to be quiet enough as Malik sensed a reciprocation of what he'd done to Namu earlier with the hikari now the one pulling energy from him. But he didn't stop it, which he probably could have. He knelt there and let Namu take what he needed.

She didn't notice it, none of the change, for all of the energy she had been given had been put to use in taking care of Namu (or trying rather.) That had she had begun to return what was left as her body shut itself down for sleep. Snuggled up to Namu comfertably, she sighed as her foot continued to rub against Malik's arm in her rest period.

Malik was starting to be concerned that maybe Namu was going to drain him dry when the absorption abruptly stopped. Settling back on his knees in exhaustion, he didn't notice immediately when Namu made a small noise and opened his eyes. But he noticed after a couple of heartbeats and, giving a small, weary, 'thank-the-gods' smile, fell backwards, arms trembling as they struggled to hold his weight.

Namu had awakened to a feeling of strange warmth, not hot and harmful like before but just as familiar. His eyes opened and fell on Malik, who was hovering over him. Sensory memories flashed back what Malik had done to him and he flinched away involuntarily. Malik seemed to have noticed because, though he looked as if he'd expected Namu's reaction, hurt and regret flashed in his eyes. The yami looked away and his shoulders raised a little. He looked like a kicked dog.
Namu had never seen that expression on Malik's face and he was immediately sorry for flinching. He knew why he recognized his warmth... It was Malik's. Malik had fed him all the energies he had to give. Namu could tell by the fine trembling of exhaustion along the yami's bodyline and by the dark's less-than-controlled breathing. Malik had tried to save his life.
"Malik..." It was Malik that flinched this time when Namu spoke his name. "Malik?" Malik winced again. Namu didn't know why, unless he thought that he was mad at him... Namu's eyes widened a fraction. "Malik, it's-"
"Let's get you back into reality. Rin's worried." Malik's voice was neutral, flat, as the yami climbed with obvious difficulty to his feet and headed for the soulroom door.

Anzu humphed as Yami finished the story. Of course, it all revolved around Rin. It was always Rin this, Rin that. Didn't Yami see that she was there for him? Was willing to love him even though she knew he could never return said feelings? It was ridiculous. All of his pain revolved around that dark haired brat. Watching as Yami driften back into slumber, she grinned and stood, making her way out of the Kame Shop. Maybe she could end his suffering...

Malik pulled himself from the Millennium Rod and managed to latch himself into reality. He could have always stayed and recuperated faster, but leaving his body as a soul-less husk for a while did not appeal to him. And in his state there was no way he could pull his body in with him. He could feel Rin's foot on his arm and managed to raise his hand to brush her ankle, but it fell back down with a splash in the water basin and he slipped into unconsciousness.
Namu was a few moments behind his yami, having been caught off guard when Malik had suddenly just left. He looked around and then down at Rin. He couldn't see Malik. "...Rin?" he queried softly, brushing her hair out of her face.

She shuddered at the "intrusion" but made no move to stop him. Well it until she felt she had enough energy to run on with out passing out. Kissing his forehead, she moved her hand to check on the rag. It had warmed over some. Biting her lip she sighed and wet it again then placed it back on his head. 'Please be okay Nam... for Malik more then myself, please be okay..'

Malik pulled back his energies when he'd given her as much as he could and still remain conscious himself. Namu hadn't so much as stirred and, aside from the defensive aura, his energies were incredibly low. Then the yami had an idea. But he wasn't sure if it would work, or even help.
"What... what if I went to his soulroom? Through the Rod? I might be able to reach him..." If the mindlink was reopenable. It was starting to sound like a stupid idea...

She blinked then smiled, it sounded like a fine idea to her! "I say give it a shot, we've got nothing better and you're the only one who can do as such." Resting a hand on his cheek, she let her thumb brush his skin. "I have faith you can do it, Malik."

He smiled very slightly in return. He wished he could say how much that her faith meant to him, even if he wasn't quite sure of his plan himself. Leaning against the bed so his body wouldn't fall when he left, he brushed his hand over the wings of the Rod and pulled his spirit into the Item.
Malik ended up in his long-unoccupied soulroom and looked around. It was dark, none of his torches lit. Leaving them cold, he headed for the door.

Watching him, she smiled still and ran a hand through his hair. Wishing him a silent good luck, she turned back to Namu and once more wet the cloth. She'd just have to wait and see since she didn't have the ability to moniter what went on in their soulrooms.

Malik took a deep breath and opened the door. The dark expanse of hallway was before him. To the right, the way to the 'Scape... to the left, the main room of the Item. Directly in front of him... was the door to Namu's soul room. He could tell from here it was locked and energies pulsed around it angrily like an irritated wound. He reached out to the doorknob, wary of what it would do.
It zapped him and he jumped back, swearing instinctively.

Sighing softly, Rin affectionately pushed back Namu's hair then let her hand rest on his cheek. She was useless, unable to help in anyway and it made her feel worse. "Namu.... come on love... I know you're hurt.. but please.."

He paused, wondering if this was really such a good idea or not. Malik stepped forward again, getting shocked again, and jumping back again. 'Dammit... I'm a theif... I should be able to get around this no problem... What's the difference between this and a ward?' But he knew the difference. A ward could just be knocked down. Malik was afraid to knock Namu's shielding down for risk of hurting him even more.
Malik wondered if it was his own shields that were setting off the zapping. After all, when he'd blown out his aura the day before in order to find Rin, he'd told Namu to drop his shields because then the hikari wouldn't get stung.
Malik didn't like the idea of dropping his shields, but... His aura slid back into his body all at once and he felt very vulnerable as he went for the lockpick that he kept by his door for breaking into Namu's room. It had been a very long time since he'd used it. Turning back to the door, Malik aimed and stuck the lockpick into the lock.

Rin sighed softly, she seemed to be doing that alot lately, and laid her head on Namu's chest. She was very much relieved to find a heartbeat, she knew he had one when they ended up in the Shadow Realm thanks to Malik, but it lifted something off of her shoulders to hear it. Hand on the side of his neck, she closed her eyes and nuzzled her cheek against his bare chest. Mean while her foot rubbed against Malik's arm, since it was the closest body part she could reach. Now, suddenly, it was her being the clingy one. Not that she wasn't all ready.
"Namu... onegai... Please let him in.. He feels bad enough for what he's done. He's sorry and only wants to help.." She could understand if the hikari was upset with Malik, part of her was as well. But knowing it had been an accident, knowing he hadn't meant to harm the light, she had been unable to stay angry with the darker half. "Please, for the love of Ra, let him see you. ..." she paused soon after, she hated to beg, all the times she had done so in the past were never for something with good intentions (as this was.) "For me?"

Malik opened his eyes and shook his head, vision refocusing on Namu's soulroom door. Getting shakily to his feet, he winced at the headache he had.
It'd felt like being electrocuted. As soon as the lockpick went in, Malik had been flung backwards and hit his head on his own door. The impact had been so hard that Malik had been lying in the doorway.
He couldn't find the lockpick. Fuck. Not that it would do much good unless he wanted to be knocked out again, anyway. Malik walked back to the door and leaned against it, trying to think of what to do.
He froze. He was leaning on the door. No shocking. Had it just been the lockpick that set it off then? It was a nonreal object only present in the Item, so maybe it had some sort of Shadow content... He leaned down and looked at the lock. Incredibly, it'd unlocked... He gripped the door knob and opened the soulroom door.

"That's all I.... we ask of you love." Smiling, despite her tears, she hugged him tighter glad this whole ordeal was over. However... When her tears had dried, she pulled away with a smile, albeit a worried one, and looked to Namu. "We should head home and make sure he's okay.."

Another surge of painful guilt coursed through Malik when he saw the still form of his hikari. And the worst part was that he couldn't tell how Namu was doing. The link was still tightly clamped shut and Malik couldn't open it by himself.
Probably a defensive reaction to me... he thought to himself. Malik sought out the pathway that led to the front door of their apartment and got unsteadily to his feet, walking over to Namu and picking up the unconscious hikari. Namu's shields were erected and pricked Malik like little pins, making him wince slightly with more than physical pain.
Malik returned to Rin and silently offered her help standing.

She took it gratefully, throwing him a smile as she stood. Namu would be fine, she had to tell herself that. If she could believe it then Malik would have an easier time believing it was well. Leaning against him, she waited for him to take the lead, not knowing her way around the shadow realm. "Namu is strong, love.. He'll be fine. I know it."

Malik didn't say anything as he led the two of them through the Shadow Realm and onto their front porch area. He was just trying to keep himself from panicking at not being able to reach Namu. He hadn't been so completely cut off from him since they'd met. Gods above and below... If Namu wasn't okay...

Rin stumbled as they reached the front porch but kept herself together. Malik was in bad shape, Namu worse. If she went down now Malik was mostly likely to snap. Managing to get through Namu's version of locking up the house, she opened then door and made her way to the bedroom. There she pulled back the covers and got the bed ready for Malik to place the unconscious hikari. When that was done, she went to grab a wash pan to fill with cool water and a wash cloth unsure exactly on what to do in this situation.

Malik did as Rin had prepared for him to do, gently putting Namu in bed. He tried to soothe Namu's aura with his own, but all it seemed to do was make it worse, so he stopped. He waited anxiously for Rin to return with the things she'd gone to get, his mind racing to try and figure out what to do. He wanted Namu to at least wake up. Even if Namu wasn't as forgiving as Rin, Malik just wanted him awake and healthy.

Coming back, she sat on the edge of the bed and placed the wash bin beside her feet. Then, carefully, she removed the windbreaker and Namu's shoes setting them by the bedside table. Dampening the rag, she placed it on his forehead, moving his bangs out of the way, then motioned for Malik to sit at her feet not wanting him to go anywhere. Mostly because she was afraid if he left the room she'd pass out.

Malik obeyed at once, getting up and settling on the floor beside her. He could tell she was exhausted, but he was so scared that if she went to sleep, she wouldn't wake up either. Placing a hand lightly on her leg, he wrapped a tendril of energy around her aura, asking, offering silently to share some of the strength he had. He was yami and would recuperate energy-wise quicker than she would.

As he sat, she placed a hand on his head while watching Namu's prone form. She'd check the rag in a few minutes and go from there. Lost in thought she jumped slightly at the sudden hand on her leg, the action having tickled more so then scared, and looked down at Malik. Feeling his energy with hers, she smiled softly and decided to go for it. She was needed to be the strong one and she would have done so if she needed to push herself to stay awake. With more energy, she'd easily be able to stay awake and was grateful for the boost.

Malik gave her what could hardly be called a smile, but was all he could manage, and slipped into her aura, feeding her the energies he had. He'd have done the same to Namu already, but the hikari's shields kept him firmly out. He hoped that it was enough to help Rin.

Knowing it had ended, pretty much by the sudden closing of Malik and Namu's mind link, Rin nearly flopped over in exhaustion, she hadn't had the power necessary for that, yet she knew she had to use what she had to end this. Holding Namu still, she moved a hand up to pet his pale sun-kissed colored hair, eyes closed. Once more she felt so incredibly sleepy but it would have to wait until Namu was okay, more importantly until they got home. "It's over.." she muttered softly, moving her emerald gaze to glare at the audience they had now.

As the torture faded, Yami collapsed onto the ground all but severely damaged. Oh sure he was breathing, had no physical cuts and could probably walk to the Kame Shop and pass out there. However, the mental strain and beating he just received left him worn with no will to move. Perhaps... perhaps this is what it felt like for the weakened goddess to use her powers? He didn't know nor did he care. He just wanted to sleep.... Or die. He wasnt sure which.

Malik ended up on his ass, staring at Yami and trying to catch his breath. Yami looked even more worn out than he was. He wouldn't be able to defend himself, probably, if Malik tried to kill him with the knife he still held.
Fuck it. Malik was too damn tired and he had to- oh, god, he had to make sure Rin and Namu were all right! He lurched weakly back to his feet and, after pausing a moment to stand over Yami, threw himself into the Shadow Realm for a shadow-walk back. He didn't have the strength to travel that far on foot.
He left the knife behind, on which he had etched onto the cheap metal 'fuck you, Pharaoh. I made my point'. It was a short trip through the Shadow Realm and he emerged in front of where he'd been sucking Namu's energies from. The grocery store... The automatic doors let him stagger in and he kept going, heading for the enormous group of people that seemed to be all gathered in one place. He figured that they would be there. And he was right. He could see some of Namu's hair and Rin's shoe.
There he stalled. He couldn't get himself to move any further forward and he was suddenly unsure if he should go any closer. He'd nearly killed his own hikari. It wasn't like he could just apologize and it would make everything better. He leaned against a display for support. But they couldn't very well stay there, with people gawking at them. Using some of the energy that he still had, he more or less sent them to the Shadow Realm in entirety, away from the crowd.

At the sudden change of scenery, emerald blinked then looked for the source. There, a few feet away from her was Malik. And as handsome as he was... he certainly looked like shit. More or less he looked as she felt. The hard glare that been in her eyes, holding contempt for the humans that gawked so pointedly at she and Namu, faded into worry and sadness. She knew he had gone to see the Pharaoh.. That had been the only thing she had been able to pick up in her brief connection with Namu.
"D-daijobu deska, Malik-sama?"

For once, it hurt to hear her add -sama to his name. He looked away, and there was a long pause. "I'm fine." Another long pause and a tentative, "Are you and Namu all right?" Which was a stupid question. Namu wasn't even reacting to anything, so of course he wasn't all right. Malik still refused to look at Rin. "I-If there's anything i can do..." And he meant anything.

Her eyes softened and she lay Namu on the ground. This had to be so hard on him knowing he almost just killed one he loved... Standing, she walked over, being mindful of all the shadow magic lurking around, she had a bad habit of passing out from too much exposure.. Shaking her head, she hugged him once she was near enough letting out a held in breath. "Malik-sa- ... Malik-kun. Promise me one thing?"

He was the closest he'd ever been to tears and just sort of of sat there when she hugged him, not sure of how to respond. She asked him that question and, slowly, he looked at her, eyes inquiring as to what she wanted of him.

Rin swallowed, close to tears herself. She was worried for Namu, unsure if he was okay, and worried for Malik at the same time. "Next time... please try not to loose yourself to power? I wasn't there the first time, and could only feel it this time... But please try not to repeat today?" She hugged him tighter, unable to tell him how afraid she had been, and tears began to fall. In the end, this was Yami's fault too... Because if he hadn't pulled the stunt last night, Malik wouldn't have gone for revenge. "I'm not mad at you and I don't hate you..."

Her tears were the trigger for his, though he stubbornly refused to let them go. Hesitantly, like he expected Rin to flinch away despite what she said, Malik pulled her into a return embrace and he buried his face in her hair. "I promise..." he whispered, "that this will never happen again. I will never hurt you and Namu like this again..."

Yami was helpless at the moment unable to do anything to protect himself. The attack had been so sudden that his sheilds had faultered and he might as well have been a human being attacked. He was up a creek with out a paddle, so to speak.

Hearing Malik's name come out pathetically from Namu's mouth, the naomi knew that what ever was going on was deffinately not good. Whimpering softly she pulled Namu's body to her own for lack of better ideas. People had stared as they walked by, unsure of what was going on, which made it extremely hard to just poof over to where Malik may be. There had to be another way... but...
Arms and hands resting on Namu's chest, she gathered as much power as she could hoping to be able to borrow Namu's mind link. She didn't have enough to even attempt telepathy on her own, especially with him so far away. 'By Ra.... let this work....' Concentrating, she sent a strong wave of her magic towards Malik, hopefully, hoping to shock him into stopping. Didn't he know how bad he was hurting Namu?

He was still laughing, more or less drunk on the sheer power that he was barreling into Yami with via his mindlink with his own hikari. Laughing and somewhat at awe at the amount of power he was still drawing. Where was it coming from? He didn't think he cared. No, he didn't. All he cared about was destroying the Pharaoh, eradicating him. He'd hurt Malik somehow and he was going to pay with his life.

Namu screamed, spine bowing as the heat felt like it was devouring what was him. He knew now what Malik was doing, what the yami was up to. And Malik didn't even know that the power he drew on was draining his hikari. Screaming over the mindlink and adding more strength to Rin's wave of magic, he begged Malik to stop what he was doing.

Malik was about to pull one last time on his power source when all at once, in a rush of Namu's tortured, frightened mindscreams and Rin's pleading wave of magic, he realized what he was doing. His eyes widened and he slammed down so hard on the mindlink that he was afraid it would be a tremendous effort to reopen it. As a result, his energies, to keep himself from going into backlash shock from the sudden cutoff, rushed back to him from the Pharaoh's mindlink with Yugi and he yanked himself from Yugi's mind. His aura receded all at once until it was a barely audible buzz around him. The Eye faded and he staggered, trying to keep his balance.

Yami had been enjoying the fact all he had to do was mention Rin being hurt in some way, even by a simple harmful touch to his hikari, and Malik went still. However, just as his laughter began to bubble up into his throat his body froze at Malik's laughter. The poor thing had to have just flipped his lid to be laughing like that. It didn't make sense. "Just what is so funny, Tomb Robber?"

Malik's energies grew around him, crackling the air. He'd done something very similar while controlling Namu's body during Battle City, using his energies to try and grandstand Bakura when they'd met up. It hadn't been necessary, but the same thing happened here, only on a larger scale.
"How much can your hikari shield, Pharaoh, without your help? Can he keep me out? Out of his head? I doubt it." Another tendril raced for the Kame Shop where Yugi was hiding under the covers in his room. "You have a weak hikari, Pharaoh. You never taught him what powers he could have when harnessing his magic properly."

His eyes narrowed and he was half tempted to try and, if nothing else, shadow-walk into the shop. "How will taking over my hikari help you? If Rin finds out she'll never speak with you again. Her family comes first, it's all she has!" Okay, so maybe now he was a bit concerned for his Hikari's well being. Only because it didn't seem fitting for something so innocent to be taken over by some mad man. Instantly, while waiting for a reply, he tried to boost up Yuugi's shields from his position outside of the shop. But it would do no good. Even over what little of the link was left between them he didn't have that power any more.

"I'm not going to hurt the hikari, bastard. Yugi will be fine." With that, he snaked his aura into the building and sought out the frightened Yugi. It was so easy, the Rod's eye glowing as he slid into Yugi's mind and shoved aside his conscious into a corner where it could scream and cry all it wanted. It was like back in Battle City when he'd taken over Anzu and Jounouchi using Namu's body. Possession was what he did best.
He filled out Yugi's mind until the only thing left that was the boy was his soul locked in his soul room. Malik had said he'd leave Yugi unharmed and that's what he'd do. Yugi himself would be safe. Yami, on the other hand... At Malik's mental behest, Yugi's body accepted the energies that he poured into it until he couldn't fit any more or risk becoming something torn between hikari and the darkness that the yamis held.
The Eye on his forehead was brighter than it'd been in a long, long time. And as he prepared to attack the Pharaoh, it flared even brighter.

Namu gasped for a moment and then, hissing between his teeth, grabbed at his head as if he had a tremendous headache, dropping the eggs he'd been holding for Rin and falling to his knees a half second afterward.

Yami could only stare dumbfounded trying to make sense of what the hell was going on. He was no good with things concerning the other yamis, more importantly what power Malik held at his disposal when pissed as a mother bear. Hmm, so that was what the Prince of Theives meant when he warned him of not teasing the bear...

At the sound of eegs cracking against the floor, Rin blinked and quickly turned her head towards Namu. It didn't take her long to abandon the small buggy they had, deciding to do a bit off shopping while they were there, and appear besides the fallen Namu. Hand on his shoulder, her green eyes reflected worry. "Namu?"

Malik laughed as he ripped open the part of the link that he had closed and used that passageway to start slamming Yami with every bit of power he possessed in his body and even more that he drew from wherever he could get it.

Namu made a helpless gasping sound, one hand on his throat while the other dug fingernails into his shaking white-knuckled palm. A burning sensation was filling his body, like boiling water rather than fire, and spreading outwards until he could feel his skin itself growing warmer. The burning was at its peak on his forehead. When he happened see himself in a broken salad dressing bottle that he'd dragged down with him, he saw why.
The Eye that always had appeared on Malik's forehead when he was using his Shadow powers was emblazoned on Namu's forehead and blazing brightly. "Dammit..." He choked, "What the hell is Malik doing....? Malik... stop!"

    <lj:music>Hikaru no GO-Bokura no Bouken</lj:music>

Yami sighed, he was in no mood to play the revenge game. However... He smirked stopping to truly think (he had just woken up and even a genius doesn't think straight when they first get up) about what this was in deed all about. As yes, his little excursion the night before. Shaking his head, he couldn't help but laugh.
"Have you stopped to listen to yourself? You sound like some love sick fool! You are nothing as you had been during Battle City and even less the back in Egypt! A woman has changed you, Tomb Robber. And I dare say not for the better."

Malik just tilted his head to the side, still smirking. "A woman that more than my hikari and I must think is rather spectacular, for you seem pretty intent on getting a hold of her, yourself. And if a fool, then a lovesick one above all. We're the most dangerous." He took a step towards Yami. "After all, I won't hesitate to do to you what you tried to do to Namu and I. As for being nothing, I disagree. A goddess found me more desirable than the great Pharaoh Yami." He threw the last three words into Yami's face like a curse, knowing that Rin probably wouldn't appreciate what he'd said, but trying to wound Yami's pride.

He had to admit, the words stung but he did not let it show. Raising an eyebrow, he scoffed. He had done a great deal of things to a great deal of people, or at least tried to anyway. Surely he couldn't be expected to remember all of them. "And what would it be that I tried to do to you and your "precious" hikari? I've done a lot of things in my life time, Malik, so you can't honestly force me to recall any certain event." Yami's arms crossed over his chest, his smirk growing in size. "Tell me Malik... Can you honestly believe the word of a Goddess?? Let alone one who only remembers certain aspects of her life? Before yours, she was mine in body and soul. None other could show her love as I had. And then you came along and she felt pity for you and your Thief Prince... Have you even stopped to think that in the end she doesn't even belong to either one of us?? She is Ra's and no one else's."

"Ra?" Malik outright laughed at this. "Ra??" He sneered in contempt at the name. "Ra is a foolish old fucker." And he kept laughing. "Ra couldn't keep track of his own daughters! One disobeyed him and the other became an assassin who blasphemed him." He smirked. "You mean to tell me that that incompetent is the possessor of Rin's soul? Tell me another good one, Pharaoh. That was priceless."

Yami had to admit, it did make for a good joke however.. "You think I'm joking, sadly I am not. While she does have her own body and still control over most of her powers, why do you think it is she is so limited? As a goddess incarnate she should be well over our powers and abilities and yet she's weaker then a hikari. Hasn't that ever made you curious?"

Malik shook his head. If he wasn't careful, Yami would distract him. "It doesn't matter Pharaoh, whether it's made me curious or not. The fact at hand is that you trespassed on our territory and tried to kidnap Rin. That's the reason I'm here and the matter I plan to deal with." His aura returned to its former vibrancy as his anger returned. He had to hold onto his anger or Yami would win. Alone, without Rin or Namu to support him, all Malik was was his anger and his fury. "You think I can't do anything, Pharaoh? You think I am really all that powerless?"
A tendril of his energy arced for the Kame Game shop, uninhibited due to the lack of shielding, shields that he quickly snapped around the shop and himself, locking Yami out. He had the shop and, most of all, he had Yugi. He knew Yugi was inside, had felt his fear when his aura had surged. Laughing, he looked back at Yami. "Just try me, Pharaoh. No matter how much Rin has changed me, I'm still me. And you know I'll take it out on your hikari."

"Hikari... Hikari... oh yes, that blasted boy who happens to be related to Hathor. Yes well.." Part of him wanted to let him go for it, see if he could bait Malik into trying something long enough to through him off... Rationality, on the other hand, refused to allow any harm come to his hikari. And that, any more was because of Rin. "In the past I would have begged you not to hurt the boy, especially since that was my vessel at the time. However.. I merely refuse harm to come to him because of the Naomi. So really.. can you hurt my hikari knowing you would hurt Rin in some shape, form or fashion?"

Fuck. Fuckfuckfuckfuckfuck! Malik hadn't thought of that and he barely kept it from showing on his face. He'd forgotten that Yami had grown detached from Yugi and had assumed that the Pharaoh was still close to him, like the other yamis were to their hikaris. And Rin was related to Yugi and, as far as he knew, they were friends of some sort. Could he really go after Yugi if it meant Rin would get hurt? Gods above and below... If she ever looked at him with any sort of disappointment, he'd break...
But Yami knew that... That's why he was playing that angle. Because he knew how much Malik had come to depend on Rin. Yami was being a manipulative asshole. Malik let his fury at that show on his face. And he realized that he didn't have to hurt Yugi. In fact... He laughed, having just realized something. No matter how tightly the link was closed, there was always at least a shred open between the yami and the hikari in a pair because, otherwise, they'd be completely cut off and no longer be yami and hikari.
It was simple. Like putting a hole in a dam. He laughed.

She blinked, turning to look at him. That was a very good question. Well... previously she had just thought of walking to the small corner market down the street. She wouldn't have been gone all that long.. but now.. "Well. Depends on where you want to go shopping at. There's the corner market or we can go to the grocery store."

He shrugged. "Doesn't matter to me. We can just walk to the corner store, but the grocery has more selection." He grin/smiled at her. "Depends on what you need, I suppose, ne?"

"I wasn't going to fix anything big, just pancakes and sausage. I'm pretty sure I can get all of that at the corner store..." Putting a finger to her chin in thought, she sighed, unable to remember what was at the corner store. "Maybe we should just go to the grocery instead... Just to be safe."

Namu nodded. "Sure, we can do that. Are we driving, then? We could always walk."

"Hmm... well it would take longer by foot, though it's not too far past the corner market.." Thinking aloud, as she so often did, Rin was unaware her feet were moving, making a decision for her. Apparently her body wished to walk there instead.

Namu grinned and followed her closely, wondering aloud various things, like if it was going to rain that day.

Malik, on the other hand, was starting to wake up and he stirred sleepily, noticing vaguely in the back of his mind that he was alone in bed.

Listening to Namu the entire way to the store, Rin prayed to Ra it wouldn't rain. She hated the rain, feared it even, perhaps more then Yami himself (it was a close tie, if nothing else.) Entering the store, she wondered if Malik was up yet and, after grabbing a shopping cart and waving hello to a clerk, pushed the thought aside. The sleep happy yami was probably in dream land still.

Malik finally awoke all of the way and sat up. "Rin...? Namu...?" He saw the note left on the bed and read it. "Oh... Namu must have gone with her... Smart hikari..." he stumbled out of bed and stretched, yawning. "Hm... Hey..." He slipped into full awake mode. "Now that I have some time..." He snapped the Rod, which Namu had left behind, into his waistband, grabbed the knife, put on a shirt, and headed for the door. "Time to make that bastard pay..."

Yami lay in his hikari's bed, sound asleep or so it looked, He wasn't much of one for sleeping, though he did enjoy the fond dreams. And he was having an especially nice one where Hathor was back under his control and the Ishtars were in the process of dying slow and painful deaths. All the while forced to watch as Rin played good slave. Ah what a wonderful dream he was having.

He strode from the apartment, leaving himself barefoot. After all, he was going to have to do some sneaking and he never wore shoes in Egypt when he snuck around doing what he did best- thieving from Yami's throne room. His aura was rumbling this time, but he got it under control. Though he wondered if maybe he should wait until he was outside Yami's house and then unleash his aura like a thunderstorm so that he'd scare the Pharaoh. THat sounded like a good idea. Though, if he could manage it, he might actually wait until he was in the Pharaoh's house or in his room.
Oh what a pleasure that would be to see Yami snap awake with Malik standing over him, knife and Rod at the ready... He sneered to himself, the eye on his forehead glowing for a brief moment. It was a short ways away to the Pharaoh's house if he shadow walked. Shadow-walking was undetectable by the yamis and hikaris, which was what made it so dangerous when Yami used it against them.
He probably has shields up and ready around the house... But this just made his sneer widen. Poor little Pharaoh... I'll break his shields and then I'll break him... Here I come, little Pharaoh, ready or not. He disappeared into nothingness.

Moving to lay on his side, Yami was aware that Yuugi had decided to play one of Rin's old dance cds. Still mostly asleep, no where near awake enough to protect himself, his dreams shifted to the time he first watched Rin dance. He had gotten so entranced with her ability.. By Ra, he had to have her!

Malik reappeared outside Yami's house, but most likely far enough away to not alert any shielding. The Pharaoh, for all he was a fool, wasn't stupid. He'd had to know that Malik would be after him eventually. Malik looked around a little and then eased his aura forward. And shot it back when he was 'stung'. That'd hurt... He smirked. All right then. No way of sneaking inside... He'd have to bully the shields away.
He let it out a little at a time, wincing and otherwise ignoring the stinging.
And then he let his aura loose like he'd planned, whirling and crashing into the shields Yami had erected and knocking them aside without too much effort to whine and twist around the Kame Game shop itself like some sort of creature. He knew he was wasting energy, but he wanted to make an impression that he hoped scared Yugi, too: he was here, and he was pissed as all fucking hell.

Yami awoke with a start, mostly when Yuugi came running into the room and under the blankets, letting in cold air as he did. Blasted boy. Eyes narrowing, it didn't take him long to figure out what had given Yuugi such a scare. Hell, had he any regret of what he had done the previous night he might have been scared himself. But he didn't so he wasn't, it as simple as that.
Growling, he stormed out of the house, glad in only a pair of leather pants and his millennium item. He wanted to know what the hell that Ishtar was doing and he was going to find out! Dark eyes narrowed, seeming even darker as it were, Yami glared pointedly at the tomb robber.
"What is the meaning of this?"

Malik's own eyes had darkened to the stormy grey-violet that they had been during the time when he had been truly psychopathic and homicidal. Right now, he was like that again. A sneer painting itself across his face again, he pulled his energies back in to form an aura that whistled and whipped around him. The knife was flicked into the open and his Rod glinted clearly from his waist.
"I'd hoped you'd have already realized it in the time it took your ass to get down here, Pharaoh," he replied, snarling. "Did you honestly think I wouldn't return the favor?"

Opening an eye at Namu's muttering, she wondered what it was he was saying. She could barely understand it enough to make it out... If she could even make it out. One of her hands was bent up to Malik's resting on the back of it while her other hand rested on Namu's leg. Within seconds she was out.

They exchanged a glance, smiled, and kissed Rin, one on each side of her face. Then, nestling closer to the sleeping Rin, joined her in the world of the asleep.

Yami sat awake in his room, even as dawn began to creep over the horizon. He had come so close to getting her.. So close to being able to claim her as his once more.. Thinking back on the night's misfortune, he had to laugh even if it was to himself. They knew who she was, the reincarnation of the Goddess Hathor and yet, not even her precious yami could remember her. At least not in the sense as he could. Ah what he wouldn't give to have the Goddess back under his control.

Rin awoke at the crack of dawn, a sudden chill running down her back. What had that been all about? Moving to sit up, she realized she was still being clung to by her boys and, with out warning, she poofed from between the two and out into the kitchen. It was time to see if she had the necessary indgredients to make breakfast.

The only reaction they gave was Malik halfway waking up. He noticed that Rin wasn't there, but it didn't register and he just nestled closer to Namu. Namu's purr replied and they both ended up sleeping again, although Namu had never awoken.

Humming as she moved about the kitchen, sashaying as she did so, Rin paused as she realized she didn't have what she needed. Grumbling, she poofed back into the room long enough to change and write a note. Donning her attire, an outfit similar to the Ishtars' save she wore black bell-bottom pants, she left the note on the dresser by her hair brush then left, making sure she had her wallet.

The two boys slept for a bit more until the door closing jerked Namu awake. He sat up, having to fight his way out of a sleepy Malik's hold, and looked around. "...Rin?" He saw the note and got up. He read it and let out a low moan. "Rin..." He walked back to the bed, shaking Malik.
"Hey, get up! Malik! Get up!" The yami muttered something and rolled over. Namu let out a whine and ran for the door of the bedroom. "Rin!"

Rin paused just outside the front door, in the process of closing it behind her when she heard what sounded like her name. And it seemed to be accompanied with... a whine? Raising an eyebrow, she moved back into the house leaving the door open behind her and waited to see who was going to end up chasing after her. She was sure it was Namu, since Malik didn't often whine.

Namu neglected the fact that he'd ended up shirtless at some point during the night and ran towards the front door barefoot and bare chested. "Rin...!" He saw her and slowed to a stop. "Good, you didn't leave yet..."

"I was about to until I heard my name... and a whine." Smirking, she shook her head and let her body relax some. "So, oh half naked one, was there something you wanted of me before I left? I wanted to have breakfast made before you boys got up..."

Namu hugged her, nuzzling the top of her head. "Eh... I was hoping you'd bring one of us along..." He knew he sounded pathetic and overprotective, but...

She blinked hands coming up to rest on his chest as he nuzzled her. Closing her eyes, she gave a soft sigh of contentment, then stepped away before one thing led to another, as it tended to do so with her and Namu. "All right, you can come. However.. You might want to dress first."

Namu realized he was only wearing his pants and gave a self-conscious half-smile. "True..." His remedy was to put on his shoes and grab a windbreaker. He didn't want to go all the way back to the bedroom. "Ready."

"You lazy arse," she giggled, once more making sure her wallet was in hand. Finding it in her pocket, she nodded and headed out the door to head for the grocery store.

He followed her, locking it behind him the way he usually did- with a barrier of Energy. Malik was the one who actually used the key.. Catching up to Rin, he asked, "So, we walking there or driving?"

Her face went blank, making no reaction to his sudden rigidness. "I.. I don't know. It was a thought that just suddenly came to mind, actually... However..." At her pause, she blinked turning her head to the side to let her cheek rest against his hair now. However, she had actually been tempted to ask that question for some time, part of her desperately wishing to know so that perhaps she could make his wish come true... She figured it must be her naomi abilities speaking.

He gave a slightly self-depreciating smile. "Heh... It's rather cliched, really... And nothing like something I'd say... And I'm not sure I would want you to make it come true, which sounds rather strange, I know, and stranger considering what it is..." He took a breath. "Do you really want to know what it is?"

She nodded, eyes closed still. "I would.. " She couldn't help a small smile at his words. He was so silly sometimes, especially when it came to thoughts he wasn't use to having. It was some what expected, she had to admit. Love made people do silly things. "If you do not want it to come true, then I will not grant it. Not until you say to..."

He gave a slight smile. "My wish is that I can make you happy. But..." He paused for a moment, trying to figure out how to word it, "I don't want you to grant my wish because I want to do it myself. If that makes any sense..."

She felt her face tint up, eyes closed still. That really was something he wouldn't normally say, but it made her heart swell. "You're all ready doing a wonderful job love, I have no reason to even begin to grant it.."

He smiled slightly to himself. "I'll take your word for it, my dear..." He was starting to feel better and showed this with a small purr.

She giggled, half tempted to feign hurt at the statement. Did he really not think he was doing that good of a job making her happy?? Instead, she busied herself with nuzzling his hair letting a finger trail now his cheek. At least, if nothing else, he was feeling better.

His tentative purr gained strength and he leaned into her hand, eyes falling to half-mast. Namu re-awoke at that point and adjusted his position, leaning on Malik's side and back, purring to match him mainly because he'd just woken up. And was rather comfortable at the moment.

"Gomen ne, Namu-kun.. Did we wake you?" She moved her head to a straighten position, leaving her hand on Malik's face. Giving a small smile into the dark, she moved her free hand to do the same to Namu, hoping he wouldn't mind.

Namu didn't mind at all, nuzzling her hand. Opening his lilac eyes, he smiled at her. "No... I woke up myself..."

She sighed in relief, though it was quickly swallowed by a yawn. She was glad their talking hadn't woken him up. She continued to "pet," for lack of better words, each boy's cheek. That was until her head continued to try and droop so her chin rested just above her chest, eyes closing each time. Seemed she was falling asleep sitting up.

They both noticed immediately and sat up. "You'll get an awful crick in your neck if you fall asleep like that..." Namu murmured as Malik tugged on her arm. They moved apart slightly so that she would be able to lie between them. "Come down here, ne?"

She made a sleepy noise in the back of her throat, falling foreword slightly at Malik's tug. Blinking some, she yawned loudly ending it with a squeak, then moved down to lay between them. Her original, though sleepily thought up, idea had to lay with her back to Namu and face Malik. But upon flopping upon the bed suddenly, face pointed towards the ceiling, she found she was greatly comfortable and refused to move.

They both grinned very slightly at the squeak and coiled in around her when she laid between them. Malik was purring and Namu murmuring something in Arabic.

Continuing her singing, Rin let her fingers begin to intertwine in Malik's hair. It was soft and fluffy, unlike what it looked like. She just loved playing with his hair.
"It's okay love... You aren't to blame..."

He wanted to differ. As far as he was concerned, it was his fault. If he'd kept a tighter watch on her, then nothing would have happened and Yami wouldn't have almost gotten Rin. But he just let out a long sigh that displayed what he thought of it.

She frowned, glad he couldn't see it on her face. "Malik... Please don't blame yourself. In fact, if you stop to really think about it, it's my fault for running ahead out of your sight." Pausing, she scrunched her face up some knowing he wouldn't agree with that. "And since I know you will not accept that as an answer either the blame falls on me or no one. None of us knew what was going to happen.."

He opened his mouth, but thought better of it and closed it. "Fine... For it most certainly was not your fault..." And she had a point.... He looked up at her and gave her an uncertain half-smile. "I am sorry, though..."

"Why? You have no reason to be.." Her eyebrows furrowed in confusion, though leaned foreword to kiss his forehead in thanks for not continuing with the blame game.

His eyes closed briefly, enjoying the affectionate thanks and then looking up at her again before turning his head back to staring off into space. "I... Just am...."

She frowned, there had to be more behind his apology then just because he was.. Biting her lip, she was half tempted to try reading his mind, but then again she was still a bit worn from the power tap she had done earlier. Sighing, she let her forehead rest against the top of his head, burying her face in his soft hair. "Malik-sama.... If you could have one wish, what would it be?"

The question surprised him so much that his body went rigid. He forced his muscles to relax so that he wouldn't scare Rin and blinked. "One wish?" There was a pause, then, "...why do you ask...?"

Smiling softly at Namu's own need to cling, Rin moved a hand from Malik's back and let it gently pass over the yami's pale colored golden hair. Her other had, placed on Namu's head from when the boy moved, gently did the same to him since she couldn't keep it on Malik's back any more.
She knew what the odd sound was about, even though it was a noise he didn't often make. He had no reason to since he was always in control, everything was always as it sound be, no problems. But the fact that Yami, once an ally now an enemy, had nearly gotten away with her... Everything had not been fine, he had lost control of the situation, almost lost her. He had every reason to have been upset and worried.
Oh how she loved her boys... Closing her eyes, she let her own fear melt into a few tears which she had not been able to release earlier. Hopefully Malik wouldn't notice, it would only worry him. Smiling, despite the few tears that had once been her fear, she let herself become the strong one. He needed that now. Opening her pale colored lips, a musical noise worked it's way up from the back of her throat and into words.

"anata dake ni aitakute imademo zutto
ame no hi ni wa omoidasu negai hitotsu dake

anata no mune ni wasureta
watashi no kakera
mada soko ni aru?

tojita honno naka nemutteru
omoide to iu na no PANDORA no houseki
toiki shinobaseta tameraide
itsumademo miteita
here in the rain"

He heard her sing and listened, fighting to get a hold of himself. In the end he ended up just holding her waist tighter and nestling even closer. He felt stupid and weak for having to be the one on the receiving end of the comfort. After all, he was the most dominant of the three of them, the one that ran the situations and made sure that none of them got hurt.
Except he'd failed earlier and Rin almost HAD gotten hurt... And as much as he felt weak for actually needing comfort, he deeply appreciated it. After all, she and his hikari were his life. If they couldn't see him in moments of weakness, who could? So he listened to Rin's singing and felt her fingers on his hair and took refuge in the comfort she offered.

She had managed a giggle at his statement involving the knife. Honestly, it didn't surprise her he had forgotten he had a knife on him. But still, this had been one night she wished she could have forgotten. Head bent foreword to give him greater access to the back of her neck, she wondered why it was Yami wanted her and her alone. Was he that vindictive? Or perhaps it was due to something she couldn't quite remember... Either way, he should have just gone home after his little mind trick. It had been that alone that had scared her most that evening, save for the fact Yami almost got away with her.
Clinging, she knew she wouldn't want to leave Malik or Namu's side for a long time to come. It was a shame she had school in a day or so, it would be easier if they could attend with her. Blasted school; it was a nightmare itself.

Malik found himself holding her even closer and burying his face in the back of her neck. It wasn't like him to be so easily rattled like this... He had to figure out what Yami had against Rin so that he could stop the damn Pharaoh from ever doing this again...

Making a small noise in the back of her throat, she squirmed from his hold and sat up against the headboard. Then, knowing he could see her fairly well in the dark, she opened her arms in an invitation to move up and snuggle to her if he needed to. She was sure he would, he was acting very odd, had been since she woke up.

Malik accepted the invitation, moving so that his head was in her lap and he was able to wrap his arms around her waist. Behind him Namu shifted and woke up, sleepily wondering what was going on. Seeing his yami nestled up to Rin like that piqued his curiosity, as well as his own want of snuggling. He flattened himself against Malik's back, nuzzling the yami's neck before lapsing off into sleep again. Malik shifted his head to rest more on Rin's stomach and made an odd sound in his throat, tightening his grip on her waist by a small bit.

She awoke some time later, emerald greeted with complete darkness, except for what she could see under the door of the bedroom. Blinking, she went to move to find her boys, when she felt something latched onto her. Now that was odd... Feeling around, she found a face, the one directly in front of her, and let her soft finger tips explore it to see whom it was. She was blind in the dark and there was no moon out tonight.

Malik felt fingers gently traveling his face and awoke, opening one eye. It seemed Rin was awake and he smiled. Namu was still asleep, breathing soft and even at his back. Quietly, he murmured, "Hello, my dear. It's me, don't worry." Unless she was still too asleep to differentiate between Namu's voice and his own deeper tone, she should be able to recognize who it was speaking to her.

"Sorry.. I wasn't sure who it was.." Smiling, she settled back down into his hold nuzzling just under his chin. The whole evening seemed like nothing more then a morbid dream, a horrible nightmare... She frowned and clung to the taller one, eyes half closed. Yami had come so close to actually getting her, to actually being able to lay some sort of claim to her and that alone frightened her more then anything.

Malik felt her cling and kissed the top of her head. "It's all right, love. You're safe here. We have all sorts of wards and shields set up." He rubbed her back softly "Just relax..." Namu and I will take care of the pharaoh, he finished to himself.

"It just doesn't seem real," she whispered into the dark, shifting so her back rested against his chest. Staring at the wall, she could almost see it reply over again, a shudder over coming her. "He promised.. It was even he who had willingly decided to restrain himself from Ryou's house that had begun this and yet... Just tonight he had broken the very act he should have been able to uphold as Pharaoh." It wasn't fair, she huffed mentally. Why did all these bad things always happen to her just when things were beginning to go right?

"I know he promised." He rubbed her up-facing shoulder when he felt her shudder. "And believe me, he'll regret breaking that promise." Malik felt a sharp poking in his ribs, just this side of painful. "Ah... hold on. I forgot to remove the knife..." He shifted and pulled the blade from the waist of his pants, reaching around Rin to place it solidly on the nightstand where it glinted the slivers of light coming from the other side of the door. He wrapped his arms around hers securely and nuzzled the back of her neck. He'd never admit it, but he'd been scared tremendously when he'd realized that Rin was at Yami's mercy.

Her mind buzzed, raced, felt fuzzy with something she couldn't name. She didn't dream, unless you called several bright, annoying colors swishing and swirling around a dream. It was like watching fireflies on crack, or at least the equivalent. She sneezed in her sleep, and in her mind watched as golden grains of sand kicked up as if a wind had blown them from a dune across the moonlit sky. God did she hope this was a dream and nothing more... Yet something told her it wasn't.. It was as if she and her other half were meeting on a common ground and yet no words were spoken. She'd have to remember to ask Irikara the next time she saw her.

A police car almost decided to interrupt their trek home, but a mental nudge from Malik made the officers decide that they had better things to do than bother them. They made it to the front door and Namu opened the door since Malik's hands were full. Rin sneezed, causing him to glance down, but she was still asleep.

She curled up more in his hold, feeling more then safe and comfortable. She hoped, in the back of her subconscious, that who ever was holding her wouldn't let her go any time soon. She liked where she was.

Malik walked through the house and back to the bedroom. Putting her down, he went to leave but looked back at her over his shoulder. He really wanted to go after the bastard Yami, but... He rejoined Rin on the bed, holding her to his chest as he idly played with her hair, hoping that she was really all right.

Namu had already made sure the entire apartment was secure and that shields were placed over the entrances and all the lights turned on except for the bedroom. If Yami had been rash enough to go after Rin like that, then who was to say he wouldn't go after her in their own house? There couldn't be any shadows big enough for the pharaoh to use. A final ward to keep the pharaoh from shadow-walking in was placed on the bedroom behind him as he entered and climbed into bed with his two lovers. The day's events had left him feeling oddly clingy and he was glad when Malik accepted him snuggling against his back.

She smiled weakly, quite content to not have to move. "I'm fine.. I think.." It was hard to tell, since her senses were all but numb from drawing so much power. "I vaguely remember hitting a wall... But I don't think he actually hurt me.."

Malik kissed her forehead and stood up, Namu copying his gesture. The hikari showed it more plainly, but they were both extremely relieved that she hadn't been badly hurt.
"Well, we'll take care of any injuries that you may have gotten when we get home. I can order pizza for dinner," Malik murmured as he turned and looked around. He was uneasy about going through the Shadow Realm when the pharaoh may be waiting for them there, but it was the quickest way. And they DID have an outlet anchored to their front door for their usage...
No. They'd walk. Even if it took longer, Malik didn't want to have to fight the pharaoh just yet. That would come later. The yami strode back the way they'd come, tucking his knife into the waistband of his pants. Fuck thievery. If the patrons were even able to identify them, he'd just wipe their minds, or get Irikara to do it for him. Memories were her specialty, after all.
Speaking of the assassin... She'd be very pissed off that Yami had dared come after Rin like that. Maybe he should have her help him track him down.
Never mind... She had a similar restraining order with the pharaoh because of the tendency for Rin and the Ishtars to drop by her and the Bakuras' apartment. They probably shouldn't throw that away...
"Malik?" Malik jolted back from his musings and met the concerned lilac eyes of his hikari. "Are you all right?"
"Hn. Yeah. I'm fine."
Namu let it drop. When Malik spoke in two-word sentences, he was usually pissed as hell and thinking of ways to exact revenge.

She wasn't hungry anymore, hell she could hardly tell she had a stomach, or a body for that matter. Yawning, she snuggled up (it was hard to tell, it felt like her body was asleep while her consciousness was awake) to Malik and closed her eyes. Sleepy, she was suddenly so sleepy... Muttering something in Egyptian, mostly along the lines of "I'm tired," "Or I don't feel good," (she was much too tired to try and translate it to herself) her eyes suddenly shut and her body relaxed in Malik's hold.

Malik felt her body go suddenly, well, limp and looked down in alarm. But it just looked like she'd gone to sleep. Her exhaustion made him uneasy, but he decided that it was best they just get home. With her asleep, he stretched his stride until he'd reached an easy, loping run that wouldn't jar Rin. Namu caught up with the same running method that came from having to run on sand. On pavement, it just made one faster with less effort. At this pace, they should be home soon.

Her body fell heavily on the side walk, Yami a few feet away. She didn't know if it had worked, her body had begun to cave the minute she thought she felt something. That had taken far much more then she had thought. At Yami's huff of triumph, she glanced up weakly to see him stalking over. Apparently he had found a working shadow.

They burst through the door, Malik's momentum carrying him through the doorway and Namu running out right behind him. They froze when they saw Yami just feet away from a shadow with Rin in tow. If he made it to Shadow-walking, they'd have a hard time finding him in any short space of time. Both of them brought their knives to bear, showing that they were not in a mood to be complacent with him over this.
"Release her immediately, pharaoh," Namu snarled. Malik said something in Egyptian outlining exactly what he was planning on doing to Yami in all sorts of detail. They had to play this carefully, though. A wrong move and he could run. If he did that, they may not catch him before he hit the shadow.

Yami looked up, eyes momentarily wide before snarling. Damn it, this had taken far too long. Eyes narrowed hatefully, he decided that one who ran away usually lived another day. Grinning, he kicked her none too pleasantly, sending her toppling over, and shrugged.
"Fine, have her for now. But know you won't get her back next time."
Disappearing into the shadow, he managed a taunting wave before he vanished completely. This would serve to remind him to be careful the next time.

Namu and Malik ran over to Rin to see if she was all right. Picking up the smaller form and settling her in his lap, Malik hissed at the shadow that had carried Yami away. Once they got home and Rin was relaxed, he was going to leave Namu to watch her and go take care of the damn bastard himself.
"Rin, are you all right? Did he hurt you? Rin??" Namu was nearly frantic, his knife lying forgotten several feet away on the ground.

They were still near by, thank Ra, but not enough for Rin to have picked up Malik's search for her. However... if she used most of her concentration...
Yami paid her no mind as she closed her eyes, letting her body go lax in his hold. Personally it made it easier for him to drag her off. So far, with all the street lights, there hadn't been enough shadows to transport them both, this was proving a problem. Growling loudly, he all but threw her against a near by wall, letting his dark eyes scan for a good patch of shadows. He had to hide her before...
She fell against the wall with a resounded thud, ignoring it as she tried to fan out her aura as best she could. It was hard, seeing as how she had yet to learn how to do as such. But with the sudden urgency... Biting her lip hard, wincing as copper fileld her mouth, she tapped into Hathor's aura, trying her best to strengthen her own.
'Please find me...'

Malik's aura brushed the edge of hers and he stood straight from the crouched position he'd fallen into. "There she is!" His cry of triumph brought a similar one from Namu and they started for the only door they could see over that way.
"Malik, wait!" Malik growled, wondering what was with his hikari. After all, Rin was right outside and they had to get her before Yami escaped with her. All he had to do was find a shadow big enough to Shadow-walk.
"What?!" A knife was tossed his way, one of the sharp ones. Catching it expertly with the knife-play skills he'd learned in Egypt, Malik let a sneer crawl across his face. Gripping an identical blade, Namu darted past him and they ran for the door. Seeing that they had knives, people scrambled out of their way and they dodged anyone that tried to stop them. A scream heralded someone's soul being thrown from their body by Malik and locked away by Namu.
They were to that door in less than a few seconds and Malik steeled himself for knocking it open. To hell with the fucking doorknob.

Malik and Namu couldn't see her, but they weren't too worried by it. After all, she was easily shorter than most of the crowd. But something more or less prickled Namu and the hikari froze. Someone crashed into him, swearing badly at the blond though he didn't notice. "Malik...?" he looked back. Maybe Malik was prickling again because of all the people. He did that sometimes. "Malik?"
The yami looked over from his position several feet away. Intimidating several people in his way, he managed to get over to where Namu was. "Yes? What is it, Namu?"
Namu paled slightly when he realized that it wasn't Malik prickling. "There's another person in here, another yami or hikari..." Malik blinked, not quite comprehending. He was hungry and wanted to find Rin.
"I didn't think that the tomb-robber liked Chinese. Is it the assassin?" Namu was more than a little uneasy.
"I don't know, but you'd think if it was Irikara then she'd have greeted us by now... And you're right, Bakura wouldn't be in here... That leaves..." They reached the conclusion at the same time. "Oh dear god- Rin!"

Using a side door, Yami had successfully managed to drag the struggling Naomi outside and into the near by alley. Surely the Ishtars had noticed her gone by now and went looking for her. Too bad they wouldn't find her. Question was, where to take her? Since he had very well trespassed they would do the same to look for her so...
"Let me go!" she suddenly cried out, voice very much frightful. Apparently the shock of knowing he had found her had sunk in and she was no longer afraid to keep quiet.
"You hush your mouth, or I'll do it for you!" he hissed in reply, trying to find a large enough shadow that could take them both to the Shadow Realm.

Malik and Namu no longer worried about the other patrons. In fact, they were proving a major hindrance as the two searched frantically for their green-eyed partner. "Rin??" Namu shouted loudly, trying to hear for a reply, but not able to over the noise of the crowd. "RIN??"
Malik's approach was far more physical. He shoved people out of the way left and right, even people bigger than he was.
"Rin!" Came another panicked call from Namu. Oh god... If Yami had gotten a hold of her... They hadn't been there to protect her... Malik's grip on his shoulder startled him and he whirled around to meet lilac eyes that showed all of the worry he felt, but none of the panic.
"Lower your shields, Namu."
"Wha-"
"Lower them!" Malik snarled at him. Unaccustomed to such a display of violence towards him, Namu obeyed immediately. As soon as the hikari's shields were gone, he realized why Malik had needed him to do such a thing.
Malik's aura swung outward, severely prickling anyone in the crowd who had even the tiniest inkling of magic capability in them. He was searching for Rin. Namu was protected because the absense of shields meant no prickling. Even so, he stepped closer to Malik. The yami's head turned left and right and finally he let out a scathing oath in Ancient Egyptian that even Namu hadn't heard before.
Then he said the words that made the floor seem to drop out under Namu. "She's not in here anymore."
